LIVERPOOL VS WOLVES: PREDICTED LINEUP

Liverpool end their Premier League season by hosting Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow. The Reds are still in with a shout of winning the title but will need results elsewhere to go their way. Here’s the predicted lineup for the last league game of the season.
For a match preview, you can head over here.
It is almost a fully fit squad available to the manager, with only Fabinho and Gomez doubtful for the clash. The Brazilian has been making good progress after picking up a hamstring strain at Villa but is yet to resume training. Gomez meanwhile suffered an ankle injury on Tuesday night but is expected to be back soon.
With most of Klopp’s regulars handed a breather in midweek at the St. Mary’s, we can expect a strong XI as this will also serve as preparation for the Champions League final in Paris next week. The manager will name as close to his strongest side as possible.
In goal will be Alisson Becker. The Brazilian is level on 20 clean sheets with compatriot Ederson in the race for the Golden Glove. A clean sheet here will guarantee he at least gets to share the award. With Wolves ranked 17th for goals scored this season (37 goals), he will be confident.
In defence, there will be returns for Alexander-Arnold and Robertson at fullback. Robbo was an unused substitute at Southampton whilst Trent was left out of the squad completely. At centre back, Van Dijk could also return after resuming training on Friday, following a knock he picked up at Wembley.
The big man should be good to go and will likely be partnered by Matip. That is in part due to Konaté playing all 120 minutes at Wembley last week and then the full 90 just three days later in the victory over Southampton. Big Joel has enjoyed his best season in a red shirt so far putting his injury problems behind him.

In midfield, Fabinho’s absence gives the manager a decision to make. He had to use Henderson for longer than he would have planned on Tuesday night owing to Gomez’s injury. With the skipper making the most appearances (55) this season, he might want to protect him.
He will be absolutely crucial against Madrid with his energy and intensity so it might make sense to hold him back here and only afford him a cameo so he keeps ticking over. He could start and then get subbed at the break or early in the second half.
On the left of the midfield trio will be Thiago who was an unused sub last time out. To the right will then be Keita, who was only afforded a handful of minutes off the bench. Milner and Jones will have to make do with a place on the bench despite impressing at Southampton.
Upfront, there will also be returns for Mané and Diaz. Like the fullbacks, Diaz was unused whilst Sadio was left out of the squad completely. They’ve both been in great form and will want to continue in that vein ahead of the showdown with Madrid.
Salah returned to training on Friday like Virgil after being taken off in the FA Cup final with a knock. He is another who could start and get taken off early or come off the bench for a cameo instead. Van Dijk and Henderson are unlikely to finish the game so it might be unwise to start Mo who would also need taking off.
Jota could therefore start again, whilst Salah waits in the wings alongside Firmino and Origi. This will be Divock’s final game at Anfield as a Liverpool player so we can expect him to play a part at some point. Tomorrow will be a celebration no matter what happens.
Predicted team:
Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Keita, Thiago, Jota, Mané, Diaz.
Subs: Kelleher, Konaté, Tsimikas, Milner, Jones, Salah, Firmino, Origi, Minamino.
