MADE 4 LIVERPOOL PLAYER OF THE MONTH – SEPTEMBER
September took in six games after the international break, with the Reds taking in games against Leeds, Milan, Palace, Norwich, Brentford and Porto. Five wins and a draw saw Liverpool score twenty goals and concede six. Only the frustrating draw at Brentford prevented it from being a perfect month, but which players scored the highest average rating?

5. Curtis Jones – avg. rating (7.9)
The 20 year old made his first appearances of the season in the month of September and really took his opportunity. From playing on the left wing against Milan (as a sub), to featuring against Norwich as the DM, Jones proved his versatility as well. He scored against Brentford and provided two assists at Porto in his usual central midfield role.
4. Jordan Henderson – avg. rating (8.1)
The skipper enjoyed an excellent month, with his spectacular winner against Milan the highlight. His running power saw him regularly link with Mohamed Salah down the right wing as he provided the perfect foil/decoy for the Egyptian. Hendo put in another dominant display in the Porto rout, and his form has certainly helped Salah flourish.
3. Joel Matip – avg. rating (8.2)

Big Joel is enjoying a great season so far. He’s returned from his long term injury in great shape and is currently playing on the level we saw him hit in 2019, leading to the Champions League win. He was particularly impressive against Leeds over the course of the month, with the one aberration being the aeriel bombardment he suffered at Brentford.
2. Fabinho Tavares – avg. rating (8.2)
‘Flaco’ was also very impressive over the month, particularly standing out against Leeds. He sweeps everything up and offers more than just a defensive shield. On the ball, he offers incisive quick passing and even popped up with a goal and an assist in his five games in September. His importance to the side is absolute, as he gives them the needed balance.
1. Mohamed Salah – avg. rating (8.7)
The irrespressible Egyptian is simply unstoppable. Six goals in five appearances over September sees him top the charts as the Player of the month. He scored in every single game and swept up several Man of the match awards. He’s operating at a level above right now and is undoubtedly the best player in league right now, if not the entire world.

Mohammed Salah is world class in my opinion, Fabinho needs to work on his speed and recovery rate, but does his job excellently, Curtis Jones is really giving other midfielders a good challenge for that midfield role, won’t be surprised if he gets picked week in week out, so far he stays fit. YNWA
