PREDICTING THE LIVERPOOL TEAM TO FACE BRENTFORD

PREDICTING THE LIVERPOOL TEAM TO FACE BRENTFORD

Mohamed Salah will be hoping to break more records tomorrow

Liverpool return to Premier League action tomorrow, after a successful midweek trip to Norwich City in the Carabao Cup. The Reds travel to another newly promoted side in Brentford. Thomas Frank’s side have made the best start of the newly promoted sides so far, having chalked up victories over Arsenal and Wolves.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed in his press conference this morning, the return to training of Trent Alexander-Arnold, James Milner, Neco Williams and Roberto Firmino. Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara are both ruled out however, as the manager tries to shuffle his cards for the three games coming up in the next week.

Taking a look at the side most likely to take the field; Alisson Becker is expected back in goal after having midweek off. Caoimhin Kelleher will return to the bench after an impressive outing against Norwich. Trent should also start having missed the last two games with illness. Joel Matip and Virgil Van Dijk should also resume their partnership after rests.

Joel Matip and Virgil Van Dijk will be looking to keep Ivan Toney and Mbeumo quiet

At left back, Andy Robertson is likely to start, with Kostas having started the last two games. You expect there to be more rotation at left back and indeed, across the whole team for the midweek trip to Porto, with the huge clash against Manchester City on the horizon. In midfield, Fabinho and Henderson are automatic picks. The third slot is open with Thiago and Keita out.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner will both have sights on starting but we predict it to be young Curtis Jones who gets the nod. The Scouser put in back to back catchy cameos against Milan and Palace before a strong showing in his first start of the season at Norwich last time out. Jones has had to be patient so far this season but his chance is here.

In attack, it’s a straightforward selection as Salah, Jota and Mané combine from the start again. Minamino and Origi will be in confident mood after their goals in midweek. They could be joined on the subs bench by a returning Firmino.

Takumi Minamino will be hoping for his first PL minutes of the season

Predicted team:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Jones, Salah, Jota, Mané.

Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Konate, Tsimikas, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Firmino, Origi.

  1. Strong and obvious team. I still think we should have got 1 mid in the summer window, anyways hopefully Thiago n Keita come back soon. We should try and avoid counters VS Brentford. Ave watched them, they are very good. Am predicting a big score again here cs i know they wont sit back. If we are clinical enough we might go for a big score, like 4-0. Thats my prediction anyways
