GUEST ARTICLE: IT’S THE BATTLE OF THE BIRDS
Written by Misheals
Back in the EPL at the first time of asking, the yellow Canaries could be forgiven for being gleeful, like a child who got his Christmas toys early. Paired against a team they’d probably have nightmares about, especially when you see the stats, 7 straight losses against the team in Red.
Like the Canary though, draped in a very bright yellow and green traditional home colors, Norwich were going to be a good challenge infront of their baying home crowd. They did make a show of it in the first half. An almost perfect performance but for the smash and grab nature of Diogo Jota’s goal.
The Reds had a lot going for them. A proper pre season for the first time in a long time, and everyone buoyed with the return of their “Rolls Royce” defender Virgil van Dijk, and his supporting casts in defense, the atmosphere and energy that’s been emanating from the team has been nothing short of positive and electric.

Although, the jitters still lingers among the fanbase, especially with Chelsea just confirming the signing of Romelu Lukaku, and Liverpool having a struggle getting some deadwood off the wage bill. Yet, the Reds did show the stuff of champions in their “very professional” performance against the newcomers. Two second half goals coupled with the first half effort of Jota, and the “Liverbird ran out comfortable winners against the Canaries“.
More of the same would be the message for the title hopefuls, as they look to wrestle back the crown they lost to Manchester City last season. May the best man (or team) win!
